Club History
In 1922 Temple Fortune Club was started by a group of players, regularly playing on a tennis court behind The Royal Oak Public House at one end of Bridge Lane, The finance was largely raised by ex- officers from the 1914-1918 war.
In 1932 The Home Guard used the pavilion as its Headquarters and it is believed that its use of the bar contributed to the survival of the Club financially.
The Squash courts were added in 1970 being a success from the start and within two years the sections was full.
The current clubhouse was erected in 1977 making use of the maple floor from the old building.
